Our family has been attending Making Waves classes since they opened and every single one has brought my kids so much joy. Katie and team have created a safe and fun space for all kids to learn, explore, build confidence, make friends, and find new ways to express themselves.

We offer five semesters of art classes for kids throughout the year: Early Fall, Late Fall, Winter, Early Spring, and Late Spring. Each semester includes options for ages 2-10 (and sometimes tweens).

These are our core classes that we offer every semester:
Explore + Create: a 4-week class series for ages 2-4 + caregiver
In this caregiver + me style class series, artists will spend the first half of each class exploring art materials and creating, and the second half of each class playing at our creativity stations and making new friends!
With our toddler artists we focus on fine motor development, creative choice making, direction following, problem solving, self-expression, independence, and more.

Discover + Create: a 4-week class series for ages 4-6
In this drop off style class series, your little artist will be inspired by famous artists, authors + illustrators, and art from a range of places and cultures to create their own masterpieces. The class series will end with a family art show!
In this series, we focus on idea development, mixed media exploration (paints, pastels, clay, and more), fine motor development, creative choice making, direction following, problem solving, self-expression, independence, and more.

Studio Art: a 4-week class series for ages 6-10
Each semester, one or more of the following subjects are offered: Painting + Drawing, Sculpting, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Fashion Design, and Handmade Books.
Artists will explore a variety of art materials and techniques throughout the semester. The class series will end with a family art show!
In our studio classes we focus on skill building, creative thinking, critical thinking, reflective thinking, problem solving, and self-expression.

Every December, we also offer special holiday-themed art classes! From ornament-making to designing a beautiful wooden holiday village, we have a variety of fun holiday experiences for creative kiddos. These are usually announced in the fall and fill up fast, so keep an eye on our Instagram for registration information.
Making Waves is very much a happy place for my children. They are always greeted with a warm smile and encouraged to explore art projects at their own pace. I know that anytime we participate in a class or camp that the experience will be positive, enriching, and fun. Our house is full of “Making Waves” creations and we always look forward to making more!
